Extract from Beyond Desire

Patricia starred in the experimental short film Beyond Desire, a piece addressing female desire, shame, and betrayal.

Drawing from a highly personal experience, we follow a vulnerable young woman experiencing a breakdown via a collision of conflicting relationships and gender power struggles. The film uses physicality, haunting sound design, and immersive camera work as vessels for intimate, multi-layered, and unerringly-contemporary storytelling. Our Lead, Patricia Langa, finds herself stuck in a loop as she oscillates between what was and what is. Will she be able to escape her trauma and her psychological suffocation or patterning?

Beyond Desire is directed by Vasilisa Forbes , choreographed by the brilliant Katya Bourvis and Oscar Oldershaw as DOP.
